Each One –
Reach One
As pastor of New Life Fellowship, I marvel at the excitement and spiritual momentum that is so prevalent in our gatherings. God’s manifest presence continues to strengthen, refresh, and change lives every service! Indeed, we are a blessed and favored people to have the Holy Spirit move in such a powerful way. However, I want to be faithful to remind our congregation of our responsibility to share our “spiritual wealth.”

“Freely you have received, freely give.” Matthew 10:8 “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared.” Nehemiah 8:10 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.” Romans 1:16 “ He that wins souls is wise.” Proverbs 11:30 Truly there is no better time to share Jesus Christ with a hurting world than now! As we have been sharing on Wednesday nights, most people live in a “land of not enough.” They have no peace, joy, or true spiritual resources. We must reach out like never before – truly today is the day of salvation! When most Christians think of evangelism, they usually think of getting a high powered evangelist to come to their area to preach sermons on salvation. They feel that a “Billy Graham” type of preacher, in a crusade setting is the most effective way to get a good response from the unconverted. Though I am not against this type of evangelistic expression, it has been proven that it does not always produce effective and lasting results. I would like to ascribe value to a principle of evangelism that many people overlook and underestimate. It is the most scriptural and fruitful model that I have found in the scriptures. It is the principle of “one on one”. In John 1: 34-46, our Lord Jesus invited two followers of John the Baptist to “come and see.” Because of this personal invitation these two men were transformed. In fact they themselves followed Jesus example and used this method of personal evangelism to reach out to their relatives and friends. There is something so provocative and penetrating to people when they hear a personal challenge to “come and see.” May I encourage you to begin to lovingly confront your friends and loved ones to “come and see” at New Life Fellowship. I know that the Holy Spirit will anoint you as you share with them about the tangible presence of God in our services. Although, they may initially be reluctant to respond, I assure you they will not be able to ignore your passionate, personal invitation to come experience the love and power of God. As your pastor, let me challenge you to join me in sharing the good news to our community with a clear goal in mind…. “each one – reach one.” This goal is very obtainable with God’s help. If every member of NLF will reach at least one person, we will double our attendance. How exciting is that!! Let’s all agree together in prayer that by the end of this year, we will see new people attending our services that have been radically transformed by the presence of God. Will you do your part and reach one? Will you use your faith and influence to challenge at least one person to come & see?? I believe that you will! Come on…. each one – reach one.
